The dental radius cutter has a semicircular rounded tip and is available with cutting-edge diameters ranging from 0.3 mm to 2.5 mm. The 2.5 mm tool is primarily used for efficient roughing, while tools with smaller diameters, such as 0.3 or 0.6 mm, are used for fine finishing or carving out fissures. The especially long free grinding length of these tools allows easy access to undercuts.

Depending on the application and the type of dental material, the radius cutters have one to four cutting edges. For example, for PMMA and wax, there are extremely sharp single-edge cutters available, which have a very low tendency to clog. Conversely, the 2.5 mm cutters designed for abrasive zirconia have three cutting edges, and the CoCr cutters have four to reduce wear on each cutting edge and to ensure greater process reliability.

Grinding Tools For Imes Icore

For processing dental materials such as ceramics and composites, Vsmile offers torus and radius grinding tools with diamond grit in various grain sizes. The smaller torus grinding tools, with their fine grain size, are primarily used for drilling and abutments. The 2.5 mm grinding tools, with their coarser grain size, are used for roughing, and the fine-grained radius grinding tools are used for finishing.
